| SANDOR BERNATH (American, 1892-1984), is a well-listed watercolor artist of the mid 20th century. This probably in its original frame, 23'X 25". Bernath was known for his watercolors of sailing ships. He was a student of Edward Hopper, born in Hungary and emigrated to the United States at a young age. By the early 1920s he had established himself within New York art circles. In January of 1922, he was given a one-man show at Mrs. Malcolm's Gallery on East 64th Street. Condition: Appears to be in its original fruit wood frame with a custom mat. but with some minor foxing on the mat and the painting. RL* | ||
