An oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left: "Stuart Lloyd, 1881". This artist, also working in watercolor, was active 1875-1929. The coastal landscape has a foreground dominated by brightly hued flowers, with the white cliffs behind. 20" X 36 1/4", with relining and minor scattered in-painting.

A French impressionist oil on board show of a moonlight evening. The moonlight soaks into the surrounding watery landscape and sailboats with a extraordinarily fine effect, as sailboats silently approach the twilight moon lit in Northern France. Known for his impressionist marine seascapes, Courant was born at Havre, France.
