Jim Bloom pulls from a well of personal experience and uses his own technical innovations to show off a unique style that effectively expresses his thoughts and emotions. He fearlessly experiments, drawing on cutout images, painting on paper, or cardboard or whatever materials on hand, and creates elaborately layered collages with work ranging from abstract to figurative, and sometimes incorporating text. "It looks like DeKooning!" one observer admired. Jim Bloom was born in Allentown, ...click for details

Walker was known for her portraits of female sitters, her seascapes, and her floral paintings -- all in a style that owed much to Impressionism. She attended the Ridley School of Art and Putney School of Art. After a p ...click for details

A "theorem" painting on ivory velvet in a rosewood veneer frame using the technique of stencil painting. The painting is delightful and the highlights refined. The floral arrangement features tulips, roses, morning glories and other flowers and two butterflies. Although there is minor discoloration in the velvet fabric, the art has apparently never been removed from the original frame. Ca 1850- 1870. 23 1/2 X 15"
