An unusual and rare 18th or 19th century "toothpick" holder of exceptional quality and condition. This small(78mm X 21mm X 12mm)ivory container has a gold hinged top with rounded edges and is mounted with a gold bezel that encloses a lock of woven hair under glass, gold stringing decoration, a gold latch and small and fine gold pique decoration in the form of a bow atop the hair lock.
