An unusual hand made trade sign for a blacksmith made from horseshoes and farm implements. A 34" X 24" wall hanging piece, all welded together from found fragments associated with a blacksmith's trade. A central orifice could be used for a portable flag and flagpole. A fascinating art glass bowl whose opened, flat base could serve as either the bottom of the piece or the top, making a free-form sculpture or a vase or fish bowl. Someone who knows the artist wrote us stating that the vase is supposed to be about 1/4- 1/2 filled with water and have flower with sort cut stems float inside. A "crazy" (or is it "Quazy"?) quilt found in the Midwest. Crazy quilts were made from fragments of miscellaneous fabrics in patterns that may have appeared crazy. In this case there is an especially rich variety of fabrics in use, including silk, which in some cases has deteriorated (see detail photos).
