A early or mid 19th century Scottish tall case clock in mahogany, mahogany veneer and inlay with pressed brass rosettes. The clock has the familiar painted dial associated with the early to mid 1800s: the broke arch with a family scene by a fireplace and the four spandrels symbolically depicting the four seasons. A light colored solid butternut or maple cased clock by John Osgood. Although Osgood was born in Andover, Massachusetts (1770), in 1793 he settled in Haverhill, NH making clocks there as early as 1793, although this example may date to about 1800. He had a long career extending into the 1840s. A swiss made late 19th or early 20th century Goliath watch, 78 mm in diameter. Stem wind and pin set with a jeweled mechanism within a nickel plated case. A nine tubular "bell" chime hall clock is of the best quality in excellent original condition. It may be that it is a product of the Waltham Company, although sold through Bailey Banks and Biddle of Philadelphia. The case is very close to some known patterns that Waltham used in the early 1900s. Choice mahoganies were used and the finish seem original although not tinted with the dark "Jap-Lac" stains so typical of this early 1900s era. A good looking late 18th or early 19th century English tall clock. The case work shows exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
